The Old Cabin

In the woods stands a cabin empty of souls and dry as the logs she is made of.

A long time ago, only the creek that babbles close by remembers when, merriment rang out and love was shared without restraint, but then the winds of war blew in!

Soldiers on horseback and afoot rode through the valley and through the log cabin.

Then only shouts of pain and anguish were heard.

The "pride" of war, the "glory" of war overcame the domain of reason.

Glory and pride do not give love or share it.

The babbling creek ran red for days, yet, the cabin still stands, empty of souls.

Only the remnants of war remain. The creek still babbles on and will remember when the cabin was a place where life was shared and love was given.
