Fool’s Paradise

What good is a candle lit a thousand miles away?
Whispered words you’ll never hear but still I have to say.
I can not let go of this, embrace my old routine-
Who you are and who I am and what it all can mean.

I should be much wiser than to fall for soulmate dreams.
Ever since I met you there’s a part of me that screams.
How can I forget you after what you made me feel?
I will be your soulmate even if it is not real.

If you have no faith that I was put on Earth for you,
Memories will haunt us for I must believe it’s true .
I will be that candle burning everywhere I go,
Loving you forever even if you do not know.

Miles that lie between us never occupy my mind.
In my dreams I’ve seen us, deeper love I’ll never find.
I believe in every word of love we ever said,
Prayers for you I’ll whisper every night when I’m in bed.

This may seem so foolish, if it makes a fool of me
I won’t change a single thing; it’s who I’m meant to be.
There’s a touch of paradise each time I speak your name.
Reason’s not a sacrifice- I’ll love you all the same.
