I Look At Stars

I look at stars, at more than I can see
Compelled by reasons I don’t understand
To face alone life’s greatest mystery
Not knowing why, but all of this was planned.

I look at stars, and see where I have been
In countless lives I tried to live before
For death is just the way that we begin
What loss exists without the birth of more?

I look at stars; it’s all I’ve ever done
And all that’s left of anything to do
Look with me now my love, you are the one
That all the stars exist to bring me to.

I look at stars, the ones in your own eyes
I never lived until I found them there
For nowhere in a thousand nights of skies
Is any life except the one we share.

Come look at stars, and own them in your heart
For they are yours as sure as you are mine.
Yes, nothing can exist if we’re apart
