Sincerity that could not reason why

The warmth we felt, and comfort drawing near.

Like gravity, existing all around-

How soon our precious orbit would decay.

Unknowing as our feet would leave the ground-

And other forces soon would rule the day.

How soon? I was the sky, and you the land-

My beads of sweat appearing in your hair,

Without a thought for who could understand-

A living dream that you were really there.

Yes, more than either one had bargained for-

A dream we had no power to resist.

You are the angel always I’ll adore

In love we could so easily have missed.
