The Way It Goes

Triple bypass, valve repair-
This poor guy is eighty one;
We’re good people- sure we care-
No such thing as having fun.

Got permission, we’re in charge-
Make arrangements- get this done.
Wow this task is very large-
No such thing as having fun.

All the meetings ease his mind-
We’re like family, he’s got none.
All it is- we’re being kind-
No such thing as having fun.

Stop his mail and clean his place-
Scrub the carpet, hide his gun.
If he makes it- needs more space-
No such thing as having fun.

This is just one friend of ours-
See why we don’t want a ton?
Always takes up all our powers-
No such thing as having fun.
