Why so many martyrs all so willing to be killed?
What was it that touched them, leaving all this much fulfilled?
Had to have been something that had shined a better way-
Think I have an answer that occurred to me today.
All had someone love them like they’d never been before.
Never saw him coming- just heard knocking at the door.
When he opened up his world and beckoned them inside-
They saw what he had done for them- and all broke down and cried.
“Come with me- but leave your heavy-laden hearts behind.
Drop your weapons- come for the renewing of your mind.
Which of you- by giving thought can add an inch or two?
Come and see the love your father has in store for you.”
Anything, and everything- that they could do for Him-
Knowing where this all was going, filled them to the brim.
Many still remembered when the nails had pierced his hands.
Everyone who loved him felt his heart and understands.
Yes, there have been martyred down through the centuries, but they are few compared to the rulers that used and continue to use the powers for their benefit. Not a single one of them ever wishing to live like a martyr. Rather, lying that coming to him and them would make followers more comfortable and wealthy. Among the good people following are many hypocrites. Mostly in the churches and governments.
