Misty Mae

Our pleasure and honor to know this beautiful white mare,
she was a precious noble creature named Misty Mae,
extremely loyal and faithful with courage beyond compare,
her grace and elegance brought us joy, each and everyday.

Blessing our family with her presence for nearly 30 years,
always brightening our lives, her insight so profound,
now sadly in her passing we’ll miss her and shed our tears,
yet have comfort to know in heaven her spirit will abound.

She was not just any horse, for she was and is our friend,
helping to teach life’s precious moments to our daughters,
she had a heart of gold, always giving, never to pretend,
always going the extra mile even through troubled waters.

She gave us a beauty daughter, “Liberty” a spunky little foal,
through which she taught us patience, and the secrets of giving,
dancing and prancing mother with young, such a sight to behold,
just watching them play about gave us the true meaning to living.

We nicknamed her “Nicker Bocker,” out of cherished love,
for rain or shine she’d whinny when she heard us near,
now she’s galloping in glory across the blue skies above,
but yet we know when we call “Nicker Bocker,” she’ll hear.

It is hard to have a loyal friend pass. I wrote a story for my loyal buddy, Jazz, when he was killed by a big dog. Getting it out helps the mourning process.

These Black and Blue Red Zone Days by Aberjhani

Just as life during the pandemic was color-coded with different hues representing different levels of danger, life in its aftermath has become shaded in similar ways. As a self-styled “Seeker of Beauty with Beauty,” (borrowing from a quote by W.E.B.

Giving Myself 'A' Reason For Going On by RickthePoetWarrior

A homonymless man writes shows what it's like to look up the laid he skirts when you’re lying prone(d) to the sidewalk, beer / joint / needle dangling from your hand /lips / arm.
