From a Wink to a Blink


Happiness and sorrow, a life we share,
emotions running still and ever so deep,
survival comes to those who really care,
those who are not afraid to take the leap.

Our existence captures a moment in time,
it passes quicker than the speed of light,
mystical illusions rooted within the mind,
beauty conceive through heart and sight.

Struggling to stay float in the pouring rain,
forever searching for the courage we lack,
life at times, can be filled with mortal pain,
always moving forward, never looking back.

The world interpreted by one’s own view,
minutes to days, to years, gone in a flash,
yet each moment really does start a new,
attempting to survive without a fatal crash.

Discovering contentment in a gentle wink,
one’s life filled with love and compassion,
the cherished moments are gone in a blink,
strangely concerned about the latest fashion.
