Coming to a neighborhood near you soon...

Living in my hood for several years
Looked up one day all the familes disappeared
Middle class, hard working, multi-cultural neighborhood
Everyone would kick it, drinking forties smoking bud
One by one daddys started doing meth
Kicking mama's ass when she tried to hide the cash
Houses shiney clean, yards immaculate
Open up the door paranoia ran and hid
Living in my hood ain't fun no more
Families lost and broken
Children fighting to endure...

Very touching, powerful, and truthful. The beautiful part is that it appears to have been written by the innocent tears of an angel. Peace, and continue in excellency.

So much expressed with such deft lines and language of "the street", Zenith. So true in all parts of the globe, I fear, as the world ceases to become safe and people have nothing of substance left to live for, perhaps. Selfish ambition and consumerism have proved deadly aspirations and a travesty of "the good life". "Children fighting to endure"... says it all. What a legacy our personal creeds and greed has bestowed upon succeeding generations. Profound write, thank you. Kate x

The breaking up of family, ethics and virtues, affects the whole of society. Sad but true. Well written.

Sadly coming to far too many neighborhoods in our once proud, multicultural big cities.

We have somehow lost our way,

Profound write, Zenith.

Children should grow to be adults, not die in young years trying to fight their way through childhood...my hood has not gone in this direction, but not sure the way it went is any better...it lost its soul, its innocence as it changed...a timely write, ~Z~, and again glad to see you posting, I personally have missed you...Peace thru WHATEVER it takes, Ed & Rufuz

Yep, another neighborhood gone to pot. Sad state of affairs. Unfortunatley, a common occurrence nowadays. Well done, Zenith.

Carmen :-)
