Scattered Words

I am finding scattered words
and notes from times gone by.
While new thoughts pour out of me
like shards of broken glass.

My feet are leaden.
I am on empty -
not grounded.
Wanting to be held,
feel whole again,
to see life’s possibilities,
and to be
encircled with love.

For now all I have
are these frayed papers
stained with tears
which slipped
down my cheeks
as intense loneliness
crashed in.

All I know is that
I need
I need
I need.

Beautiful Noise

Oft times now, 

the most beautiful noise I hear 

is the sound of Silence.

Settling down into quiet solitude,

I am drawn inward to listen to 

the lyrics of my soul.

Silence can also lead me to

a crescendo, climaxing into a

deafening explosion.

My protective barriers tumble down

and I am left trembling.

The powerful force of silence is a gift.

It is where I unearth buried treasures

and find my true essence.

For that, I am grateful.
