Kalaiya, I waited 31-years to meet you, and it was worth it.

Kalaiya, I waited 33-hours in the labor and delivery room, and it was worth it.

Kalaiya, I waited through those dark hours of the night for you to go back to sleep, and it was worth it.

Kalaiya, I waited with you watching a spider's web by our pool for what seemed like an eternity, just to catch a glimpse of that spider creeping toward its helpless dinner, and it was worth it.

Kalaiya, I waited with my mouth agape in kindergarten when you asked me to get fired from my job because I never play with you anymore. That day I quit, and it was worth it.

Kalaiya, I waited in that tiny little seat next to you in your 1^st grade classroom for you to have a chance to show your teacher what you knew, and it was worth it.

Kalaiya, I waited in that crowded auditorium to watch your 2^nd grade holiday performance, and it was worth it.

Kalaiya, I waited all day long in the scorching heat for your soccer tournament to end in 3^rd grade, and it was worth it.

Kalaiya, someday I'll wait for you at the wedding chapel, then walk you down that ceremonious aisle to give you away, and it will be worth it.
