At bedtime last
I fell asleep
As I am wont to do
And found myself
Surrounded by
Stuff wonderful and new

Blue pigs appeared
Green ponies, too
A turtle and some cats
Who traveled round
With fleas dressed in
Tuxedos and some spats

A butterfly
With sugar wings
Did snatch me from my post
And flew me 'round
The atmosphere
A most indulgent host

Some daffodils
And Twinkie cakes
Were passed around the room
We then went to
A wedding march
And poked fun at the groom

The raucous day
Was quickening
As sunlight turned to night
The butterfly
She returned me
From wondrous, awesome flight

Back to my room
I found myself
Apollo makes his rounds
Sunlight taps me
Wakes me gently
As morningtide abounds

I quickly rise
And clear my head
To find my wonderland
To my chagrin
It's disappeared
So much for dreams unplanned

The moral here
If one there is
Is simple, neat and true
Don't seek out dreams
Fantastical
The dreams, they will find you
