What do I see?

A cat and a cup of coffee

Curling warm around me.

When husband gets up in the morning,

What does he see?

The news and the work and the fishing pole

Demand productivity.

When daughters get up in the morning,

What do they see?

Romance, schedule, shopping malls,

Frenetic activity.

When son gets up in the morning,

What does he see?

Food and friends and craziness,

Controlled creativity.

When I get up in the morning,

What do I see?

Breakfast for all, send them away,

Then down for a nap for me!
