Have you taken note of the Sun of late?
In the Eastern sky it’s supposed to rise
And traverse the heavens to keep its’ date
As it sinks in the West and slowly dies.

The orbit of our rolling sphere
Three hundred and sixty-five days does take,
On its’ annual journey around the Sun
And twenty-four hours, (one spin,) a day will make.

It seems to me that something strange
Is happening to our sphere,
Has it changed its’ celestial path and range
Or developed a wobble, queer?

For in the last few days we’ve seen
The Sun rise in the Nor, Nor East,
And at its’ setting, it has been
Going down in the Nor, Nor West.

Can you explain this phenomenon to me?
A novice of Astronomy’s ways,
A puzzling conundrum it appears to be
Of the star that controls our days!
