Temporary Absence

I’m going away for a short while
hopefully just for a week or two,
It’s going to feel like I’m in exile
away from all the Authorsden crew,
unable to take a peek at you
and all the reviews and blogs that you do.

But I have to go for surgery now
to get myself two replacement knee’s,
I’ll keep myself busy in there, I vow,
writing, I’m working on a novel you see.
With crochet and some knitting too
for a friends new babe, little boy in blue.

On my crutches I’ll come hobbling back
make a beeline for my computer, then
I’ll sort my email and delete the spam
before settling down on Authorsden.
to catch up on all you folks have written,
It’ll take a while, but ‘den-bug’ has bitten.

Hospital is not my favourite place
to spend a ‘holiday’ away from home,
I’m not looking forward to having it done
but I really do need these new knee bones.
So I hope that for me you will pray
For a successful ‘op’ and a very short stay.
