Nice haiku Jackie! Hail is scary - as Karen said - as you have said in your poem, it acts like it wants inside in the worst way....maybe it wants to warm up (haha). Hope you and Jim are enjoying your trip! Stay warm and snug.

makes me think of the last hail storm we hd, earlier this year. We had golfball sized hail, and we also had hurricane force winds. It was SCARY! (We were caught at work; we were both off, but the sky started looking a tad nasty, so we went to the restaurant we both work at, and we took shelter there. It turned out that the restaurant lost power for about a half hour, and it got mighty smoky in there. We also heard the hail hammering on the roof, and it sounded like it was gonna' bust right through! It was really frightening! We had at least 1/2" of hail; it covered the ground for about five to ten minutes, and it damaged some cars, too.) good write; enjoyed~

Brings back memories of a hail storm in the middle of summer in the Rockies. The appearance of snow while suntanning from the sun that came out! :-) Wonderful write.

texas suffers with the "white plague"--costliest hailstorm ever in the states was in fort worth, texas, in the late 1990's...billions of dollars, some injuries, even a death
