Meadowlark

The dreary winter days set me thinking ahead to warmer times.

Meadowlark

Happy little Meadowlark
spiralling on high,
Trilling his joy
beneath a beautiful sky.

Such joy is infectious
to all who may hear,
A happy Meadowlark sing
from his heart in notes clear.

Oh how I long
for the warm summer days,
I’ll look for him then
as I roam the byways.

I’ll listen for the Meadowlark
so sweet is his song,
As he trills of his joy
all the day long.

Lovely poem, Jackie - to both Spring and the merry Meadowlark - a very lovely bird.

Thanks for warming me up this morning; it's bitterly cold here, with more snow - again.
