Transmutation

At times my soul seems bent to stray beyond
The bounds set by mortality's ill hold.
It presses hard against this flesh cocoon,
On pain of death, to pass outside its mold.
'Tis astral realms my mind seeks to explore,
Where I shall journey to new worlds unknown,
Which from my heart have been concealed before.
Alas! How sad to go there all alone.
If you would share tonight with me in dreams,
On wings, like moths, to brighter lights we'd soar.
A flight that's so much more than what it seems.
Somehow I feel we've done this once before.
And should spirit transmute, however brief,
Freedom awaits beyond human belief.

Lonny, I think you have an inner gauge, a kind of 'temperament' thermometer that gives you readings of our thoughts and our so human dreamings.. I've felt this before.. you write that which we so easily recognize inside ourselves.. sometimes, often, it's that part we wish we could explain. You have the words.. there's something quite beautiful about being in the company of one who is so generous and open.. your rhyme schemes and meter make the journey so sweet. Sigh.. you are amazing. katy xox. (I'm still coming down from that sonnett!)

Hey Londis! I've been there a few times myself! Unfortunately they were all spontaneous and totally, totally, awesome! There isn't a word grand enough to discribe it.

Amazing how there seems to be things written, but unreadable on our souls that appear to have been put there like maps waiting to be read at the time that they are needed, but pointless to pursue at any other time because by them we become lost and confused until we are actually on the road by which they will lead us on...

This is a beautiful and vidid picture in words - love it!
