The Silversmith

Because of his famous ride,


On the night of the eight-teenth of April


In seven-teen seventy-five,


Paul Revere the silversmith,


Rode to warn the folks of war


But was captured by the British


Before he ever reached Concord.


William Dawes and Samuel Prescott


Also rode with the alarm.


Though their rides arn't even mentioned


In Longfellow’s  famous poem

This was interesting indeed. It was said that Paul did not ride all the way. He was captured and got away and finished the rest of the journey on foot, and so had become a legend.
