Waiting for my mother

I sat on a bench I waited for her whenever a mon walked by I thought surely it was she. Hours passed, she must have forgotten but she said wait--- and so I did. Then night-time came I still had faith until the lady in white asked me my name. She said come with me, Sweetheart I said no, I couldn't--- I had to stay right here I'm waiting for my mother. The officer said come with me, Son and so I finally did I wondered how she would find me guess what, she never did.

Always sad when hopes and dreams are crushed such as this. Not everyone is privileged to have a mother they know and it takes inner strength to continue forward...
