They Kept Coming

 Many have come
this way
some lost
others chased
looking for answers
to promise early made.


They kept coming
They kept taking
until
nothing was left to take.

And
The new ones 
still came
they took what was left.

A
weeping heart
just watched
while they came in droves
firing thundersticks
and
death sewed in blaankets.
