Egocentricity of a Generous Poem
Pure egocentricity attached to this generosity
of sharing days washed
by the rain
broadly
to your unawareness
of a poem well crumpled at the bottom
of the stains of sun
spread all over the surface
of the words
tightly silenced within pages of no aridity
and yet tracing shores which
because of the rain
the day
that day
stained of saying merely flooding tides
of what disembarked onto my fingers
amidst tumbling seaweed – as I was saying
while swallowing salt but sharing water -
the day deserted.
Recital saved for later
when the wind changes…
For now
you will read nothing but watered exhortations
upon the silence of this paper
illusively profuse
that the truth of my poem
selfishly altruistic
deluged.
And the sense
floats
in the washed sharing of the excerpts
shredded
on generous days.
Pure egocentricity…

You have the heart of an Artist and your words
are the blood that flows from it.
You have a marvelous gift of shedding
light on a subject from several perspectives.
My sense is that the exercise was a successful one.
