Returns

I return to the stream
in this consciousness of margins
perhaps mutable, but whole
in refraction of time and crystals
elementary.

Always have you lit with dawns
the shadows and the dance of these trees
that so often I have sought to touch in nocturnal
spirals of vague fires
with eyes in flight beyond the sunrise
and fingers in belief pervading stars
in soaring leaves.

Thus, I return to the stream
and to the wholeness of you, flowing upon my skin
but with a depth conceivable, only
for the soul of blood in the veins of time.

Yes, of time and of this consciousness
fluid and crystalline between elementary margins
and the refraction, perhaps mutable
but infinite, of the light of many other equinoxes
by sunrise of souls and by fall of the shadows...

I have always found you
as I return here, where we both have surged
soul and then blood
of one single water, and of one single fire
lighting dawns beyond the skin
with fingers upon light chasing shadows
fallen from time - that other time
already dry.

We have returned.
