leisurely, we understand

we understand each other, in one of those returns of glance
with precise fires burning behind a very dense fog
that it feels good to rip as if we were blinking, leisurely.

we understand each other, in one of those facets of the touch
as virgin of hands in the rough as they are cut
and polished to the lusty purity of gem, of rarity
intimately, leisurely, penetrated.

we understand each other, in one of those subtleties of tongue
between fruity at the sampling and an aftertaste with notes
of wood that, in the trinomial body – sap – aroma
leisurely discloses, luxuriant, the whole tree.

we understand each other, in one of those easy harmonies
of bird and trill, or bed and river, or secret
whose anamnesis is, in essence, an unrestricted flight
skimming depths which then it echoes
leisurely, in ripples, along the water’s skin.

we understand each other, in one of those adjacencies
that would be, in a sense of creation, that pause
of the self-portrait between the brush, already soaked
in colours of flesh and blood, and the canvas, white and dry
as bones are; so, we understand each other as wholeness
would understand itself, still in the void –
- or as that unique soul which in itself is conceived
warm and naked, leisurely.

Xuxa,

My hands know the subtle contours of your body,
my innervision is connected with the intricacies of your mind,
and my heart recognizes the delicate footprints of your soul.

How wonderful it is to breathe with you as we walk, so leisurely hand-in-hand, this beautiful garden path.

All my love,
Joseph

Now I know why you are one of my favorites; you write with flair, power and conviction. This is no exception...reminds me of Neruda in a way.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Lovely, Alexandra! (Margarida paints with exceptional realism) This reminds me a poem I wrote comparing differant rivers and their flow to differant aspects of a lover. All rivers which eventually flowed to the sea, but in metaphor expressed the many moods and faces of one loved and their affect on the other. I think knowing and accepting the complexity of an individual is the key to loving them wholly. The same might be said of life...

When you sat down to write this wonderful compilation of love, or its counterpart lust, you were in the exact right frame of mind, because what you wrote was pure poetry. Accent on the word "pure." Each stanza brings its very ow, unique and trhobbing sensation to the game of the wonders of love, be it the eyes that smolder or the lips that purse or body language which talks without words. This is an excellent poem which gives the reader much to consider.
