PLACES (BEFORE JOSEPH) – I

Sometimes, in order to fully apprehend the beauty and the wholeness of places found in shared discoveries, one has to go back to those perhaps not so beautiful, perhaps not so whole, but certainly necessary places where one has been before; to go back not to dwell in them, but to recall those places for what they were, after all: Steps along the way to where we are now… and is beautiful and is whole.

This cycle of poems is therefore titled PLACES, and is dedicated to Joseph, with my love and gratitude for this other PLACE of beauty and wholeness which we have found in shared discoveries.

Places I - the square between purple and grey

I used to sit as if I were walking
in the purple quietness of a square;
an unheard-of square, of which, however
I wrote as if I were singing it
while crying, to the passers-by -
those deaf accomplices of my sitting
and purple hums – a million times.

There was no palpable light there
and the shadows would hide from themselves
in that pliable perseverance of confusable
hues and modulations that could be
the grey wings of certain pigeons
as much as the tint of the leaves
of certain trees, between purple and grey
all cooing one and the same trickled course
over the flagstones, of one and the same
past rain.

I used to sit not at the centre
but at an angle of my grey lines
which I would write and write again
so that no one would hear them
on a purple paper napkin
that would, as quickly, wipe them
from my lips to their last, purple droplet
so that no one would see them
and hence would neither infer grapes
nor the elliptic lines of other wings
other leaves, or other juices…

This was, probably, the most absurd
of all those places of a remoteness
to which I would return
when I wanted to be close:

The purple quietness of a square,
a damned square, that I would,
however, crumple in the same purple
paper napkin which I would then toss
to the ground of those same flagstones
coated in the same grey pigeons and the same trees
between grey and purple, and making it confusable –
and me, in my then trickled course – with any square
across which everyone would walk
in the deaf complicity of my blessed hums
devoid of light or even shadows;
where I would sit and cry, a million times,
as if I were laughing at the past rain.

Oh Xuxa,

Words simply cannot find their proper place to express how much this poem means to me. The fact that you have found happiness in sharing the discoveries of Life with me is very overwhelming and fills my heart with unimaginable Joy. Perhaps it is my whole reason for being. Now, with every breath we inhale together, we find what was, what is and, in the present moment, we create all the moments of our tomorrows just the way that we dream them to be. I am forever grateful for your unconditional love which gives me wings to fly.

Amo te infinitamente,
Teu Joseph

This is beautifully penned, Alexandra, and now look at the heights you've attained with Joseph by your side! Your soul mate...well done, my friend.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

We are biological beings, treasures in cracked clay vessels, the Bible says, home for spirit, hopefully the right One. We are who we are at the moment because of all of our past experiences, positive or negative. We are a multi-mirrored reflection at all times of all those experiences and prejudices.

Everything in the universe has an opposite necessary for polarization and balance.

The moment of now becomes a memory a moment later. Consequently most of our life is in the past, and most of what we hope for is in the future. Good or bad, the past is the library from which our desires and hopes and personalities spring forth.

I agree with you - to let the negative energy of past experience control you, ofttimes becomes a worse experience than the original. But conversely, these negative experiences always balance what we want, and strive for, in the here and now.

Vesna's point was valid and so was your rebuttal dear Alexandra. You are both creatures of light and strive in your lives to be so.

Those that walk in the light know also that there is darkness and an enemy to our souls. The Bible says that God is light and in Him is found no darkness. Maintaining harmony and dwelling in the light, in this life, is one of the greatest challenges we face. Human effort is not enough.

Let us always rejoice always for those moments when love and light are the host at the table.

In fraternity and poetic vision ...

I think in all your writings in that purple place, you sent out an unspoken message to the universe, that something was missing....and lo and behold......you got your One Light :)

and me, in my then trickled course – with any square
across which everyone would walk
in the deaf complicity of my blessed hums
devoid of light or even shadows;
where I would sit and cry, a million times,
as if I were laughing at the past rain.

You are an old soul Alexandra..........
who has reached........and received.........

what a blessing my friend!!!

Vesna, dearest friend, the beauty of this also resides in the ability to revisit such places without getting "wrapped" in their energy. This ability comes naturally when we are focused on "what is" and not on "what was" or "could have been", and it's from that powerful PLACE (a destination as much as a source) that we can, without danger, revisit ourselves, forgive ourselves, understand ourselves better and then the others. And then, go on - for being in the NOW is also never losing sight of our ever evolving energy.
From the ever evolving wholeness of the two-in-one, with love and light,

Perhaps it's wiser to let go of the energies of those other places and live in the wholeness..you know that every time you think a thought or feel a feeling you instruct the light within you to move along the matrices of this electromagnetic network and as the intelligences within your physical body receive your instructions through the recalling of memories they release whatever chemichals are required to manifest, once more, the old scenario..please be careful where you focus your energy..methinks it's wise to leave the past in the past and just bask in the now..the wholeness that is the two-in-one!
Blessings..

Vesna :)

We have to lose ourselves to find ourselves. The poem here places intellectual enlightenment, illumination which alone places the individual on a new plane of existence, almost making her a member of a new species. A sense of immortality and a consciousness of eternal life, and broadens the general view of human life by comprehending mental vision. The progress of this poem is in the perception of color, Alexandra, like the Egyptian and Greek temples were decorated with a few bold primary colors because they were the only colors woman/man could see at the time and a development of music and memory. You have come into OneLight since those days and the tears have dried and been replaced with a river of smile...
