and there are hours of almonds
of rolling them on time of honey
with the cardamom and salt
of the space between the cleft
that the lips gather
and the scream multiplies
in the navigations with no maps
other than those from the high sea
of thigh to the plane
with the tree at the end
rising like a mast.
you smell of the seaweed
of my time
in your hours
of avidity cleaved
to the depths of mouth
with rosy flowers.
we sprinkle ourselves of languor
in waves which leaven
round reposes
to the brim
of times that sail.
and that are to be nibbled at
unfurled
at the hour of every
coming.

a few notes about this poem:
written almost a year after another poem titled “Of Time and of Hours” (check it out here in AD at the link provided below) this one just “happened” as a sequence, within the same thematic cycle, but in a different style. it’s a surrealistic composition using a combination, like in a recipe, of exotic ingredients, sensuality and the sea – the sea which the Portuguese navigators of many centuries ago crossed in search of the sensual spices of India and other remote places. the almond loaf with spices, honey and salt, is a delicious heirloom from those times.
(cardamom (sometimes written “cardamon”) is the name used for species within three genera of the ginger family, distributed from India to Malaysia, Java and Africa. it’s very much appreciated as a spice.)
This poem is sensually striking, to the very core, after just the first 13 words and it builds in intensity until its climax. It's wonderful to read again before one captures their breath after the first reading.

You are truly a remarkably unique poetic voice. Never blatant, always intriguing. Like what we envision existing behind the waterfall, every time we squint harder we see more.
