WHAT I WANT TO TELL YOU (SEA-CHART)

(To my Love)

I want to tell you, my love
that I have been far away.
Far away from myself
I don’t know where.
That here, my love
I don’t know where
there is a simplistic haze
a dust of insulation
in the complicated horizon
of my eyes, which I know
are inhabited. That, yes
my love, that here
I don’t know where
I know this, which I
can’t see. But I can
hear it, like the distant
very distant sound
of steps and voices
of invisible moorings
skimming invisible hulls
of boats docked by wharfs
where – I don’t know where
my love – there have been
no embarkations in a while.

I want to tell you, my love
that I go on playing with words
here, I don’t know where
like the shadows of sails
play with the shadows of
the coming and going
of the water
(not really coming from
or going anywhere)
in the silences of wind.
And I want to tell you, my love
that here, I don’t know where
I know that to love you
is the course. The course
I always know even when
I am I don’t know where
far away from myself -
playing, in the silences
of wind upon the sails
with the shadows of water
in the coming and going
(really coming and going)
of the words. The ones
I want, I know I want
to tell you, my love
when I return.

Xuxa,

I want to tell you, my love, that no matter where you are, my heart is with you. The course of my life is to love you and, oh, how sweet the journey. Thank You for this lovely bouquet from the beautiful garden of your heart.

In the silences of wind,
Teu Joseph*

a wonderful prelude to love's returning consummation ... sometimes we need to serach the shadows of our beings, so the light in our hearts can find its way back ...

This is exquisite, yearning poetry, Alexandra, powerfully imaged and penned; BRAVA!

Real romance and real love ebb and flow and breath like life itself. Sometimes one side or the other do recede into their own world for one reason or another, ore as your poem symbolizes takes a trip. This poem captured this moment of aloofness that happens to all of us but gives the receivor a sense of hope that time will heal all. Well done Alexandra.
