With love and a flower

"Just living is not enough," said the butterfly, "one must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower."  ~ Hans Christian Andersen

Again there is something of a cocoon in the air about you.
Unseen as air itself, yet palpable, as if each breath you take
were a subtle mélange of threads of life and dream - life and dream
as yet enclosed, as they enclose their own form and essence, new.
But somehow, in the briefest of sighs – almost imperceptible, a hint
escaping from a subliminal, secret space of longing and quickly inhaled again
- my own breath catches a prelude of wings, and I smile, holding it in
for just a second… or less than a second… an infinitesimal speck
of time as minute and yet glowing as radiantly as the spark of creation…
and then exhaling it. I marvel at the light, at the first reverberations
of an uncontainable, near metamorphosis already awakening hues that flutter in the sky.
Yes… it is just a breath away… the whole air uncoiling for the beauty, dazzling, of your flight.
And again, I marvel, as I breathe this soaring inevitability, with love, while the flower
naturally blossoms, in the sun.

my own breath catches a prelude of wings,...
it is just a breath away… the whole air uncoiling for the beauty, dazzling, of your flight.

I can't tell you what this does for me, Alexandra... it is so deliciously suggestive of something tangible and yet not quite dawned in the receptors of the mind - like that which hovers in the peripheral vision of the consciousness. Wonderfully elliptical. And the imagery and sustained metaphor are captivating. Wonderful work this truly is. Simply stunning. TY K xx

Alexandra,

The butterfly is so wise. You are the sunshine and the freedom that allow my wings to grow. Sweet nectar is the gift that flows from the flower of our love. I'm happy to be holding your hand through all of life's transformations.

Impressive and utternly scruptious write of the feelings of one so in love that it transcends time and space. Beautiful as always.

Very lovely, Alexandra - and that is one of my favorite quotes - I use it quite often.
