The Charm of Making

Images flow and interweave enigmas rippling
on both sides of a magical mirror that became
horizontal and as supple as a lake at dusk.
It is me, here, looking deep into your eyes
through her eyes, there, and it is you, waving
between the surface and the depth of us -
a longing that swells and delves, like tides.
We all lay as one in this parallel, liquid acuity
which reinvents our essence and merges
reflections. In her lips I drink you - a crystal
clear source of known, primordial secrets –
and in my lips run the underground streams
of your elemental design she thirsts for.
I was there before, in that dark expanse of you
that she now touches here, in this rising
glow, with my fingertips - and her nipples
emerge to meet my own where
they submerged in the whirlpool of your touch.
The full-moon of her dreams in your sleep
casts the eve, revisited, of your dreams
dawning, glorious, in my arms – and there
is no end to the resemblances in the
beginning of this charm of all the makings
where images flow and interweave answers
rippling on both sides of a magical lake
that becomes vertical and as inflexible
as a mirror, in the open light of day.

So much like any process of creation, that of poetry, in the ever puzzling interface of muse – poet – person, can be as elusive as reflections on the rippling surface of a lake (who knows where one begins and the other ends), and yet, simultaneously, as clear and barefaced as the evidence returned by a multi-parted mirror (all are one, made of all). “The Charm of Making” poetry therefore holds, for me, and always will, all the fascination of the unfathomable… that we sometimes grasp only to let it become arcane again, because we love this “crystalline ambiguity”.

Alexandra, meu Sonho ...

If one wants to experience poetic thoughts, all they need to do is visit your page. If one wants to witness the sensuality of the dance with the muse, they need only read this poem which, though ambiguous in a way, is also crystalline enough for the reader to understand. If one has a desire to learn, your den is a good teacher. If one simply wants to enjoy some of the best modern poetry available, then they have come to a place as rich as the stars and the sea.

Always in awe of You,
Joseph*

And the two shall become One...
This was cleverly imaginable from word to word.
"The Charm of Making"..."...It is me, here, looking deep into your eyes
through her eyes, there, and it is you, waving
between the surface and the depth of us..."
This few lines in itself are it's own Masterpiece!
Take a bow!
Love and Peace~

Excellent poem in its use of imagery. Yes there is ambiguity here, but it add to heighten our appreciation of a poet's thoughts. Victor

Wow, this is thought provoking to say the least! It's true, that each of us is composed of many different people inside our skin, and what a mind trip it would be to be able to SEE each of them when we look in a mirror. This is haunting, brilliant, inspired! BRAVA
Love,
CJ
