Poem Artwork

architecture of the wait [more and more pulp]

almost hurts, my love, the agile and yet unhurried,
precise arch of the sketch beyond the fingers
through which you enter me and I you, more than
in a manifest contour of advent and return.
you go, elongate, and I come. abridged, I densify
the pliable descent, already a dome of dew and bud,
your hands steering my hips, your art drawing me
closer to the design of the wait, erect, tumid.
almost hurts, my love, the arch of transcending
the brink of you expanding and me following, more
and more pulp, more and more juice. all but a still life
in these intense colours – you ascend, ablaze, I
descend, aflame. and the arch, perfect, is the
scream – almost pain, my love – falling, at last, on
the apogee of the altar, the tree. on the sketch,
fulfilled, from which the mouths harvest, in small,
ripened sips, the architecture of the wait – almost
pain, my love – that buds again.

Minha Paixão,

Isn't this just perfection? From the drawing of the blueprints, to the erection of the main structure, to that sweet culmination when the final touches emerge and become the vision itself! The pain of the "wait" is well worth the ultimate pleasure of its fulfillment.

Amo te muito,
Teu Joseph*

I doubt if anything was lost in translation, but if so, the original would surely melt the countryside. Beautiful, Alexandra. Beautiful.

Don't know where it was translated from, but it is one fantastically realistic depiction of lovemaking--love it!

Oh Alexandra, whethter you are talking of the sexual correlation of the painting to love or the real thing, you sure no how to turn up the heat. This one had me breathing hard withing the first five lines and by the end I was ready to rush naked into your arms. Lovely write so full of passion.

It's strange how a translation has led to an amazing synthesis of sensual English language in this poem.
