Reinvention with pomegranates

Pomegranate, in Portuguese, is “româ” – and if you write it backwards, it becomes… “amor”, which means… love. Is there a more amazing reinvention… than this?
May you all have but the sweetest reinventions this Sunday...
Love,
Alexandra*

Reinvention with pomegranates

There was that place
and the essence of ripe pomegranates
imagined in the flowers devoid of scent.
There was the colour, openly crimson, of the flowers
- and there was the tang, not confessed and green, of
the pomegranates that would be, seeping through the cracks
of time and falling into the substance, with petals ajar, of dream.
There was memory, drank in gulps of other colours.
And all of a sudden, there were two mouths and one sole breath
- and the pomegranates, bitten, ripe, in the flowers of imagined scent.
Sweet…
… Like the reinvention of that place.

Xandinha,

You know the sweetness of Love and you know how to share it with your pen. When I read you, it's like falling in love with you over and over again. I'm thankful that we are constantly "reinventing" our love.

Amo te muito,
Joseph

When as a child I had the first one, I felt in love with the color, the aroma and the taste!!!! I didn't knwe then the Portuguise lingua, but my own said love, love, love!!! which being the reverse of the fruit's name is uncanny appropiate.
Thanks for taking me back there.
This coming summer I will have another one.

Alexandra,

After reading this can you imagine my surprise today when my wife told me she liked pomegranates? I enjoyed the essence of every word in your poem.

Dearest Alexandra: I like the way you image this fruit with its bejewelled vermillion seeds into a ripened love poem.

We believe, in Malta, that when the first thunder shakes our island, pomegranates will burst open and a small gnash appears on the skin. It is love opening up as you so aptly described. Victor

Your summary is amazing. I love Pomegranites (we have a small tree in our back yard), but they are one of the most frustratingly complicated fruits to partake of, such as love can be.

Another delightful write dear Alexandra. Insightful and colorful. Peace and blessings to you and yours. Have a great week!
