Like strawberries in November

You break like a spring morning and about me -
my body, my core, like any ground of living dreams.

We blend glow and grain, dew and thirst, to this
intrinsic wakefulness with no boundaries between
your touch and my fecundity.

Yes, we grow into one another
then grow as one –
yet, with no predictability, no submission
to season or, indeed, dimension…

This would be why, with all the unexpectedness
of a prodigy, we become visible, before
the incredulous, as would a strawberry patch;

Actually bursting with fruit, scarlet, ripe and sweet -
although leaves, falling about us, tell those who swear
by time but not the pulp, the taste of awe…

…that nights are now longer and dreams
much too short, mornings should be frosty and
the ground too hard – for it is November
and winter is near.

In our garden, strawberries are actually growing, although it is November. This reminded me of the unlimited, prodigious possibilities of love, when it grows unbound – and us, boundless, with it – with no submission to… season or dimension, from a ground of living dreams…

Where I live...strawberries peak in November. Excellent work...like water for chocolate in my mind.
Walk in the light always,

Xuxa,

Yours is a fertile garden of dream, sprouting joy, dancing with the light, bearing the fruit of love in all seasons and for all seasons. This is another beautiful blossom from the garden of an amazing poet.

Amo te muito,
Joseph

Your added coda is as inspiring and beautiful as your poetic framework, Alexandra. Fabulous and fruity concepts here: the taste of awe; the ground of living dreams; no boundaries between your touch and my fecundity. Love is Word and Word is Life and Life is Fruitfulness. Your intimate, magical and secret garden perfumes our vision and propagates our dreams always. Love you, Kate xx

Alexandra, you are so eloquent, and using the comparison of strawberries growing in November to the limitless way of love, is beautiful.
You are truly a beautiful soul.

I love this one Alexandra...so filled with hope and passion of what can be. Even here in the North (Nova Scotia) I was amazed to see one last rose bloom on my wild roses.
