More than Enough

Love, above and beyond comprehension, born with Down Syndrome, but never a handicap for my brother in law, Harold. Loved Roy Rogers, and dressing in like clothing... seen playing his guitar for the children boarding school buses on his corner of the street,. love overflowing. And yet growing to adulthood...making a contribution to the world...working for a special program...called SOS...for Special People, doing menial tasks, and yet earning enough to retire with Social Security... this child that the doctors said would never talk or walk. He was the teacher, I was the student...learning how to give so Very Much Love. He lived to be an incredible age of 62, with doctors saying he had the body of a 100 year old man...but Never in mind or spirit. He is at peace now...greeting everyone, in heaven... for he never met a stranger... with his Aura of Love...and slightly tipped Halo. (c) More than Enough 17January2011 Vivian L. Dawson

You have touched a nerve with this intensely personal piece. In this sad old world one of the saving graces is the acceptance and understanding of disability. We all have a lot to learn from people like Harold. Well done.
