Baby steps into this world
yet to venture and grow

Count ten toes on the go
innocent time spent on the floor
must pull up to seek
steps reveal so much more

Shoes now assisting exploration
learning to tie the strings
weaving through the eyelets
for lifetime of worthwhile footprints
putting one foot in front of the other

Pebble beaches or shifting sands
elusive of footprints
can still ensure we were here
truth is in our final destination
by soles of mankind left behind
