Poem Artwork

I am proud to be a Christmas Tree...my family has
dressed me in the finest...warm and cozy by the
hearth fulfilling a life all my own in elegant beauty

But, do trees get wishes?

For, if I could..I would wish that the legacy of a
pure white dove would carry a twig of mine to
garner the winds with Peace and Happiness

Imagine yourself being decorated with my garlands
of loving grace circling around long after Christmas
Day is tucked away for another year

Inevitable my fate to end up on a curb will not be
forlorn in the planting of another tree just like me
for generations to come along from a death giving
future life to become ornamental and once again
to secure mankind's evergreen in euphoria

I never imagined I would be seeing Christmas through the eyes of a tree, nor did I imagine that trees had such a philosophical outlook on life. Another first.

Beautiful threads to this poetry, Vivian, and I love the perspective. Also, Andy's comment is pretty ...it's got me, I'm laughing... hilarious! But anyway, trees are so full of sorrow and beauty and I'm glad you let one of them speak ~

As the Irish say, they get, one, two tree wishes!
Excellent poetry, and oh for such peace!

With my luck, I'd be the fairy on top of the tree with a fairy light shining up my dress.

Ode to a dying Christmas tree is alive with glory and granduer! Your words blend beautifully in honor of the grand tree to serve but for a season and for the decorations that are put away, but not forgotten. I love the ebb and flow of your poem, so beautifully done by Lady Vivian. The picture is gorgeous!
