Poem Artwork

Longing for green grown the grass of
my sun once fertile in the shade of
the mightiest trees proudly bearing
our young rite of love carved hearts
but now ever barren and lost

Demons scheming in the devastation
of divorce for the creation of their
black forested heart of misery to
seep into the cracks of my broken soul

Steadfast my prayers for a new
discernment yet many obstacles blocking
my channeling what to do so far from
luscious my glen now alone just a stump
of a woman in the swamp of aftermath

Snow capped mountains so ominous
shadow the valley, will the angels fly
to my rescue..I must prepare for
their  light to penetrate the fog of
my nightmares for their brightness..

Letting go the bitterness left from
deception for such betrayal being
not an easy task, but grateful for
the poetry to write...for when I
remember the angels sent a gentle
loving man to dwell in my heart...
and now to create the right words
to express the blessing that took
place
in my healing explicitly forward

There are some fine lines in this tale of betrayal and eventual catharsis. The second verse is well written and the final " misery to seep into the cracks of my broken soul" line is particularly expressive. Glad the angels did their stuff.

Sad piece of writing,Vivian, but that is the key, you have your writing, your words, your poems to help the healing process, and it does that, believe me, it does that. There is heartbreak withing these lines, but there are desire also. Desire to throw off the shackles of deception to be able to once again love. It is worth the chance, and I hope you find it.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
