Is it true that a unicorn can only be captured by a Virgin? Must be a lot of them out there. This piece is quite fey, reminds me a bit of a Kate Bush song. If only we could wake with that Hemingwayesque quote and avoid becoming busy fools.

"where depths of faith mean everything"

Yes. Right on. You betcha, and Hell yes! Reading the first stanza was like I was able to look into myself, to places I had not ventured before. Into that "heightened sense" you spoke of, Vivian. This poem took on he inner workings and served it up for all to see and read, and you gave us wonderment and the ability to laugh at the "devil is after you in sinking of free will."

This poem is very well written, deeply emotional.
My favorite Hemmingway quote is this one:

"Once writing has become your major vice and greatest pleasure, only death can stop it". How true is this quote...
