to fly among my memories
when our love was born
transparent as a butterfly
among forget-me-not-s
unpretentious of blue

They say most of us wear a mask of some kind or other; are we trying to set ourselves free, you are probably right about that. Of course the mask is off when we fall in love, or it should be.
Masks are rarely used to conceal who we are, but to suggest who we long to be. For example, of or relating to a period.
