"Discovery" pulls the reader into its imagery and leaves her with the impression that its persona will never leave, regardless of how horrid the situation may become. This poem is like a sailboat becalmed in a tempest. It speaks of an ardent stasis at the still point of the fury. We can all see the master's hand at work in this long sea voyage of a short poem, d.v.

That silhouette looks like the one I see outside my bedroom window. I leave a margarita on the sill to entice her back. Shhh...It's our secret.
