A Prayer I ask you to hear me if You still can hear The voices of those who have no one but You. I ask not for power, I ask not for wealth, I ask not for glamour, for fame or health. I only ask for a passage to pass through, One that will neither offend nor annoy Those I encounter, those I deploy. I ask You to give me just that one hope That I can exit with dignity, as I have come thus far, From this world, and arrive to where You are.
Being a practitioner at times of poetry formed into prayer, I am always glad to find lines that sometimes reflect my own thoughts directed at the Lord. This is beautiful and a pleasure to read Lakshmi. Bob
