When love tapers off
When love tapers off you wonder if it ever was,
But then you remember, of course it was.
Where does love go after it tapers off? That binding force
Making life so livable, so normal, so bright.
When it goes it hands over, to the lovers, the desire to fight.
To fight tooth and nail, to pin down the one who mattered.
Then let us decide finally. Love comes patching up a unity
And leaves undoing the patch-work it handled so lyrically.
Is it the road to discord, deconstruction and despair?
Falling out of love is painful.
