It is in the enchantment
that vivid sensations arise
that see beyond this yield
behind my closed eyes,
to create and to build

To write a verse, to sing
break apart or touch the heart
of people, places and things
with prose we hone our art

I see the amber glow
twinkle across the dark sea
of tiny fireflies below
as crushed diamonds before me

It is in the enchantment
for poetrymen to view
crystal hearts that drip
cool tears of topaz blue

Hearts pulse and ladies swoon
love yearns of perfection
beneath a bright hunters moon
love burns in pain of rejection

It is in the enchantment
of poetic musing muse
to rouse with excitement
and light the proverbial fuse
