I've heard there's hope past the stars
where I can be at peace tonight,
past my troubles and careless lies,
I'll see it on the first light
A home way past the Milky Way
where Hubble sees more than space,
where the stars and mountains sing,
with a melody of matchless grace
There I know I'll set my burdens down
find a river near a celestial tree,
dream of a lover waiting there,
destined to be mine for eternity
Everything I need will be there
far more than what I know,
I want to leave this dying world,
be the poet for Orion's soul
To sleep, so deep, awake-refreshed
on a star encrusted celestial shore,
even now in my mind I'll wait for you,
the one this poem was written for
