Oh How I Wish this could come to fruition

Thoughts On A Happy New Year

Here we are facing another bright New Year,
As yet untroubled, all the days and months clean and clear,
Like a new born babe, ready to be trained and raised,
Unsullied, un marred brand new, it almost makes one afraid,

How long before the first marks appear upon the unblemished skin,
How long before the terrors, riots and wars begin,
Too soon the world returns once again to it’s normal; form,
Back to the battles insurrection carnage which we consider
to be the norm,

Oh how I wish that , when we wish all, A Happy new Year,
That, that wish could become real for all the Year,
Or even that the World could stop, and quietly think on this,
That brotherly love could spread to all and give us Peace
