Progressive Thought

We are told we learn from our mistakes. Therefore we shoul keep an account and improve on our results from year to Year. Do we ever do such a thing?

Progressive Thought,

Happy New Year the cry rings out,
Happy New Year, that’s what it’s all about,
A new start a brand new page,
As yet unblemished, unsullied the dawn of a new age,

So much promise, it’s enough to take a deep breath and hold it tightly,
All those resolutions, all serious, none made lightly,
Intentions glistening like gold ,spreading to a far horizon,
A pathway, to be followed, implicitly, until the year is done,

But wait a moment, what if one should trip or stumble and lose the way.
What happens then, can I pick myself up, to carry on each day?
Keep in mind and remember what happened this year when you tripped and fell,
That vision that flashed in front of you, a taste of hell, well sighted,

Keep each vision in mind, as a lesson learned, but not be frightened,
To tread out in full confidence, each stumble being counted,
As a difficulty overcome,, a problem past and surmounted,
Counting the total at years end, proudly added to life’s progressive learning,

John W 01/01/04.

As long as there is breath within one's lungs..it's never too late. If I see you stumble..I'll gladly help you to your feet. Happy New Year. Lisa
