Why March?

Inspired to write this poem after observing in solidarity the March and a new beginning to women's rights!

 Why March?

Not a pro-abortion rave,
Just a Women’s March.

Even if you live on a Pedestal
Of Privilege and pampered
To keep You unaware of the ills
Perpetuated against your daughters,
Sisters, mothers, Aunts.
You need to know why?

We march for the future You
The You who pay taxes, but earn
A fraction of your male counterpart
The You who fear walking down the
Street, then later asked that dreaded question
What were you wearing?
The You who is told what and how to
Use your body, but denied the care
When your body ceases to be useful
The You who put on your business suit
Every day and drive your Lexus to your conscience
The You who live alone and feel you don’t
Need anyone.

We march for the lady down the street to
Protect her right to be a mom and live in
Her picketed fenced dream.

We March for the right to
protect our unborn
And the right to choose.

Citizens, we march for freedoms some
Take for granted, yet most of the
World fear to bestow.

The Art of the Deal Citizens is that
We march so we should not have
To bargain for rights that are freely
Basked unto the privileged, the elite -

The Deal, Citizens, is that too many
Of our brown, white, and rainbow sisters
Are perceived as less.
That’s why we March!

No better reason to march or to write this beautiful poem of the reason why. Women seem to get it much better than men, so I'm with you. I'm with the 3.5 million came out yesterday to speak your mind about the poor choice that the men have when it comes to leadership and taking care of the prize source of their offspring.

May your cause succeed and with it, a kinder, gentler nation with government for all and understanding of where we live.
