lost in a melodramatic spindle,
the wind gently brushes my flaky skin
like strands of golden hair.
i float endlessly, buoyancy,
what a charm!--
to admire the moon's freckled face
and lonely stare.
a glimpse of scattered brilliance,
...motionless beauties.
i admire their sullen flare.
i have yet to see a fire fly,
across a sky so dark.
will you catch a firefly? they say.
they dare.
if only stars would fall
like fireflies across the sky,
i'd catch them one by one
and hide them from the night.
if only stars would fall, they say
like fireflies they would fall.
if only stars would fall, i say
i'd give one each to all.
