On the road to peace The sky shimmers The stars glimmer The soul wonders: Am I on the right path? What is the matter? With this shiver Down my core? What is it for? Then there seems a door Far, but not too far The eyes turn wet The heart can’t set Its rhythms Back into “style” The pulses fire In a random file Ahead we move Pounding our ways Through days and days Of fear and dismay Hoping that that may Turn into a sure peace Piece by piece We fall apart Only to find out That the door we saw Lives ago Is now open Calling out: This land is yours Despite the fear No matter what appears To be solid and true The fact of the matter That only you Can tell the difference Between light and shadow As you look inside Far and behind The walls of doubt Knowing that You’re finally here You can easily steer Your ship to the shores Of peace, once more…

A peace that doesn't last isn't true peace. One's honest perception is the yardstick of "measurement" when it comes to matters of the soul.

What we go through in life prepares us for that which we sinsirely aspire for, and clearly intend and move towards.

I sense a very deep concern that what is promised, a wide open land with a peaceful purpose, is doubted. After so much more pain and hardship, it is very difficult to trust that peace is lasting and real. It will take time for peace to work, before you and your poem will be comfortable back in your homeland.
