William, a lovely dog

In memory of William, a lovely dog.

William

 

Your little dog with the sweetest  face

William is waiting at his resting place

With other pets his time to share

He will be happy whilst he’s there

And every day he’ll wait for you

Until your own ‘earthlife’ is through

On the Rainbow Bridge he’ll bide his time

So please don’t worry, he will be fine

He’ll know the time of your own death

And wait for you with bated breath

Then you will find your dearest  friend

Will be beside you at the end.

So live your life and carry on

He’s in your heart, he has not gone.

It is so terribly hard to lose a pet-friend. They are truly God's gift to us. This has just the right combination of sadness and hope.

Stunning. Having just lost my father, this would (with minor changes) have been a first rate poem at his funeral.
This is a poem that will help many in their darkest hour.
