I immediately thought of the Beatles, Nowhere Man. If we can find any spark in our life, we are certainly doomed to this kind of depression. He thinks there may be millions out there. Perhaps the kind that will not only decide to end it all, but to go out in a big way by taking others with them. As others have written. This comes from a very dark place that no one would wish for, but some fall into.
You express so well, Jerry! You excel through your words. No one can suppress how a poet should or should not feel when he lifts up his pen to write. A poet must express himself, and allows the readers to connect with him through his words. You have always done this splendidly.

For myself during the course of a day, I prefer to seek out at least one event unrelated to me that I can glean some semblance of humour from, no matter how small. After all, I have to hope it will serve to feed light into my my mind when all else fails to.
